Ball eschews the documentary

Ball eschews the documentary angle and is consequently short and sweet; its only real flaw, as cinema, is in Graef's tendency to shoot the performers too close up.

The Secret Policeman's

The Secret Policeman's Balls, as the concerts were subsequently known, were the brainchild of two men: Amnesty Marketing Director Martin Lewis and Monty Python's John Cleese, who was an outspoken Amnesty supporter.
